Mmm..beer....

One of my newer favorite dinner hang outs is Schlafly Bottleworks in South County. I'm not much a beer drinker most nights, but I love the Hefeweizen and the Pilsner. If you are not a huge beer guzzler, try the Hefeweizen; if you are a Miller kind of guy/gal, go for the Pilsner. The drink glasses are large, filling and satisfying. The prices aren't bad either! If you like pizzas, you can order your own style mini pizza - and  bison, goat cheese and bbq are options! I personally like the BLT with olive oil instead of globs of mayo.  The servers are nice, the food comes up quick! Never a complaint from me. If you are looking for more of an intimate setting, go to the Schlafly Tap Room. It has a larger area for pool or darts and has 2 bars as opposed to the Bottlework's single bar. However, the menu at the Tap Room varies from that of Bottleworks. You cannot order the BLT or mini pizza at the Tap Room. My two favorite dinners a the Tap Room are the Corned Beef Sandwich and the Beer Battered Cod & Fries. Again, never a disappointment at this location either. Their food is always fresh and tasty!

FYI Schlafly is NOT in South County
written by Lyndsay M. Johnson, November 01, 2008
Just a friendly heads up, Schlafly is blocks away from my house in Maplewood, which is definitely not in South County(locals get pretty offended things like that), it's on the St. Louis City line, and yes, Schlafly rocks, as mentioned in my Things To Do in the Lou article. They have a cool screening room too.

good time
written by Dan, November 01, 2008
we checked this place out a couple of months ago for an art/fashion show, and had dinner while we were there... It was a pretty good time and good food, though I did not have any beer (kind of silly now that I think about it, since we were eating at a brewery! ) smilies/cool.gif

Edit: location
written by Crissa , November 03, 2008
I did put south county smilies/sad.gif I'm sorry, correction, the physical address: 7260 Southwest Ave in Maplewood. I am one of those people greatly challenged with directions, I could have sworn it was in south county though...huh, well, that's while you'll never see me trying to give anyone directions.

I end up going to Schlaflys almost on a monthly basis. It is mmmazing. I hate crowded areas and I have not once felt smothered at either location.
