Assuming you wont be at home singing 'Auld Lang Syne' by yourself watching the ball drop on television, it'd be interesting to see where everyone plans to be when ringing in the New Year.

Some go to friends' parties, others hit up bars for some live, local music, while others are out clubbing. While it seems everyone is penny-pinching lately, do your fellow St. Louisans a favor and let us in on your cheap choice for celebrating New Year's this 2009/2010 season.

Of course, there are always parties on the Landing, and Ameristar and Harrah's typically throw a grand spectacle, but what about those coming home for the holidays from college or those that just blew all your extra money away on Black Friday specials?

So far, a sweet spot to be (but not the cheapest), will be at the Pepper Lounge on Locust Street. Mizzou and local college students are encouraged to attend but it will cost $60 + a ticket as time progresses and/or until tickets are sold out. This will include appetizers, open bar, and of course champagne.  Friend the Pepper Lounge on Facebook for further details.

A cheaper route would be celebrating the New Year at the Schalfly Bottleworks, which is always a good time and there is no cover charge, so drink as much as you wish to spend!

Another option is The Point New Year's Eve bash at the Hyatt Regency in St. Louis. It sounds like a great time, including live bands such as Brookroyal, an open bar, appetizers, and champagne, but be prepared to shell out $79 in advance or $89 at the door. For more information, visit their site: http://www.kpnt.com/Point-Promotions/Story.aspx?ID=1168916

Then of course there are all the other great places in St. Louis also thowing parties! Where will YOU be on December 31, 2009 at midnight? (Tell us the name of the bar/club/venue and why ie. cheap cover, the craziest place to be on NYE, the most single people, best drinks)

I've read ads for Lush and F15teen that were $75 in advance w/ open bar. There isn't a lot of information out there yet.
